Pick Your Place in the Sand

Explore the Beaches of Colonial Beach

CBVA’s sandy beach, located on the shores of the Potomac River, is the second largest in Virginia–over 2 miles long! Five distinct beachfronts suit every beachgoer, whether you like the excitement of the Downtown, prefer to have the whole beach to yourself, or something in the middle.

Join the fun at the Downtown Beach, where where visitors can stroll the Boardwalk; grab a bite at a waterfront restaurant or food truck; rent kayaks, paddle boards, or other watersports; ride the swings; shop for souvenirs; cast a fishing line from the Municipal Pier; or utilize the bathhouse facilities. Beach areas further north and south of the downtown offer a quieter, more secluded experience.
